Washing your cloth nappies is not as difficult as you might expect. Follow these simple instructions for an easy wash routine.
Dump solids into the toilet
If your baby is on solids, you'll need to toss the solids into the toilet.
Add your nappies to a dry laundry bucket
Don't soak your nappies but leave them in a dry laundry bucket until washing day.
Wash in your washing machine
Do a prerinse (either in the bath tub or in your washing machine).
Then wash on the cotton cycle (or any cycle that is long and vigorous). Use the full recommended amount of washing powder.
If possible, wash on warm.
Hang them up to dry
Either tumble dry on low heat or hang them to dry.
PUL covers should be hung inside and not in direct sunlight.
Use the sun to bleach stains.
